Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Y'all!

This has been the best festive season for me ever!

With family, and friends. With buddies, and loved ones. With people who care and with people I care.

Like I said, its always about the company. :)

As you guys know, I am interning at the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports. Its located at the SLF building at Toa Payoh. Its a pretty old building that extends vertically on top of a hill, so some of the view outside, more than makes up for the drab atmosphere of the office.

The view of the city scape was expansive, and contrasted with the nature of white clouds and blue skies. I love it.

And because it was christmas, my colleagues were giving out small presents for everyone in the office! I got a small dog soft toy (that wont stick to the cubicle walls), a phone sock (thats too small for my phones) and cheesecake (of which its whipped cream melted into sludge but delicious all the same).

Work is work. boring and interesting at the same time! Beginning to finally get used to some of the routine, but it is two more weeks before school begins again and im not doing my prepatory work. argh.

And its christmas with more friends!

Managed to catch a few more people i've been missing out on for a while. so here are some of the highlights!

First up! Dinner at the Village with Eugene and Juliana! It was just so great to finally catch up with them in the flesh and finding out whats been happening in their lives!

and im going to be Macey's Godfather!

Here are some pics of one of my favourite two-headed love monster!

I also caught up with sunny, yongming and stuart! had dinner at Thai express at Raffles City. Coincidentally met PQ at the basement. Talk about fate huh?

Stuart and Yongming, who happens to be a good friend of Jul and my sister! My sister thinks he's super cute!

and me and sunny! we were competing who has small eyes! sunny wins easily with his eyes shut. hahaha!!!

and all of us took turns to take pictures with the Christmas Tree! ah! the festive joy of friends.

and we had desserts at Menotti's! a nice dessert place to hang out and satisfy our sweet cravings! Just look at the colours and hear the beckoning calls of sin! hahaha!!

Finally, had a black christmas outing with jon, ray, riz and david.

Jon and Ray just looks so happy with food!

Dun have the rest of the pics. All in Riz's brand new camera! Still, we had a great time! thanks to the organizers!

And i hope all of you guys have had a wonderful, memorable christmas!

Hey Peepz! im on a roll! actually cos im supposed to send a mail to someone. but i was irritated by that someone. so shall purposely blog first! whahahaha!!!

This entry is a summary of all my social outings since exams so far! in random order really!

Met up with Alexander Joshua Wong the Pharmacist at Chinatown! Its been so long since we met and chatted. So was ever so delighted to meet him again and catch up. We ate at this soy sauce chicken rice stall along Eu Tong Sen Street. Just love these kinds of out of the way food eateries!

Had dinner with my regular eating khakees Darren and Johnson! We met at Toa Payoh Hub, which is near my work place at MCYS. Coincidentally found this duck eatery somewhere on the fringes of the hub. But apparently very popular indicated by the crowd.

And here's me with my favourite Doctor, Dr. Darren! haha! Well, I also know a Dr. Melvin. Wonder hows he.

I also met up with Ting Aung, Marcus and Darren for dinner at Gelare PS on Tuesday cos its half-priced waffles! YUM

Ting Aung is just crazy and wacky as usual. I wonder how Darren and Marcus take it. haha!! He wants all of us to pose some "weird" pose.

This is Marcus's pose. Needed some modeling help from Ting Aung.

Darren was too "mature" to do funny pose. haha!!Or so its claimed.

Here's Marcus and Ting Aung doing a joint weird posuer shot! Funny people they are. Lots of laughter really!

And here are our delicious waffles! gosh... sin. sin. sin. but tasty. And below are the couple shots!

Darren and Me! really, Darren's right, it IS a good photo of us! Ting Aung took our better side profiles! haha! I am so Hiao. but then again, im a hunk. right? right? right? *applause* *fan screams* *someone throws me a panty*

And here's a candid shot of Ting Aung and Marcus! keke. not so candid. there was a deliberate posing for a second. haha!!

And this entry ends with, oh. who knew. ME! MC had another happy evening!

Hey Peepz!

Here is the third part of my update! this time, its the post examinations! im conveniently brushing over the entire exam period. its. just. too. painful. hahaha!!

First up! went for lunch with my PS/ASS class!!! its interesting cos i've never actually had any social outing with my fellow majors. not even WT. cos WT is ALWAYS busy with other people. shant mention names :x

So that's some of my classamtes at Ben and Jerry's at Vivo. We just sat around talked about career prospects and ghost stories. haha!!!

Then in the evening, I met some of my JC classmates for sort of an ad hoc dinner to celebrate the end of my torture! haha!! We went to this place called Greenwood Fish Market and Bistro at Bukit Timah. Its somewhere pretty inaccessible behind NJC. Supposed to be some posh food enclave. like Holland Village.

PQ was like "NO!!!" at all the good food!!! "the cholestrol! the calories! I... must... resist... the temptation...." then he proceeded to jump in! haha! actually its cos i have NO camera skills, as the following pictures will attest to.

And PQ was happy.

And so was Jingwen! Just look at the spread! oh gosh..

Pardon the blur pic of Valerie. Here's a toast to good food and good company!

Here's the couple pics! Jingwen and PQ. The sophisticated and the gorgeous.

And here's me and Val: "We are 14! not 24!" acting cute the both of us. as always. no wait. its just me who acts cute! val is simply cute! whahaha!

And when we were done, we just sat there and chatted. its just nice to just sit around and talk, while Val stares blankly at the empty place and thinks, "i want more of the caviar"

Good food. Good company. MC is a happy boy!

Hey peepz!

here's part TWO of the super exciting life of mengchuanthehunk. This feature is on the Marathon!

Yesh! i took part in this years standard chartered marathon! i missed last years. so i was determined to take part in this years!

Went with Star to collect our race packs! star went to queue for his 10 km while i queued for my 42. its funny how Ah Ken happened to come in time to queue just behind me! whahaha! so instead of studying for my exam on monday (it was a friday), we ended up chatting for the next one and a half hours. Still, thank God Ken was there if not i would have been bored by my notes.

Then the race day came! keke. My dad was going to run the 21 Km and he's more excited than me! actually, if you read the straits times the next day, my dad was on the front page in the picture on the right hand corner behind the baby! keke. My dad's on front page! whahaha!!! how glamourous!

I met up with Ron Tu. We agreed to be running buddies throughout the entire race! keke. we started out late cos we were queuing for the damn toilet. The first half was great! until the second half. When ron and I took turns to get cramps in the legs! so we ended up walking half of the second half. but he was very encouraging and a great running buddy for the tough and strenuous journey.

i dun have a pic of ron and I running though. so i shall just put myself up!

That's me looking oh-my-god-like-tom-cruise-in-mission-impossible!

Thats me finishing my last few meters!

And that's me finishing the race in 5 hours and 30 minutes with a wide smile! Haha!

Well, again, it was great and wonderful, besides torturous, painful, hot, sweaty, strenuous and slow, i would do it again next year, only to curse and swear at my idiocy at why i decided to do so in the first place!

Hey Peepz! update! whahahaha. the shameless pronouncement of mundane-details-made-glamourous. why? Just Because. whahahaha! Here is Part One!

the exams are finally over. just last week infact! and i only had 2 days of rest! Right before i jumped into my first real "working" experience, being an intern at the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.

Here are some of the highlights during the examination period!

Oh! I am testing the picture uploading system from blogger. Give me feedback if you prefer this format, or the previous ones when I used photobucket! or any better format for presenting pictures! much appreciated!

PQ and I grabbed some drinks at Wine Company at Dempsey. It was my first time there! pretty posh for my social status (which is none!) and full of yuppies and executives and expatriates. I hope to be reach the stage when i can drink there whenever I want!

Met up with DiDi Kai at Munchies! This smart ass refuses to take pictures cos he is determined that he needs to go for plastic surgery before anything else!

Foodie Darren was so so so kind as to come over and reformat and fix up my lap top during the exam periods cos my lap top was stalling and hanging left right and centre. and it was pissing me off. Thank god for Darren and his strawberries! Calmed me down a lot, so i would not go berserk and start doing fantastical stuff, like running over to XY's room and start talking to Robbie and Amanda, his darling soft toys.

Caught Aeron for dinner at Ginza! we had XO fish noodles. my first time trying it. I wasn't wowed. as I would be at Greenwood (see other entry) but it was indeed an interesting taste! My sister came over to fetch us back to school but she was rushing me like mad cos she needed to meet someone else. And i totally forgot to pay the bill! when i reached school, i suddenly remembered and i had to take a cab BACK to pay the bill. argh. must take this chance to make her feel guilty. the cab trip cost SIX dollars more!!! *rips hairs and rolls on the floor in anguish* SIX dollars!!!

The OKR RAs were very very kind as to make green bean soup for the residents of Block B! As part of their support for us during our exam period. it was not bad! i still prefers mommy's but still, their kind gestures are very much appreciated!

Bryan was also very supportive of my exam efforts! Bought me some foodstuff from Suzhou! I loved the peanut snacks! gave most of them to my family cos I could not possibly eat them all!!!

XY came over to my room and with his sheer force of his bulging and rippling muscles ripped my pull up bar off my door frame. Why did i mention it? It so I can also rub some guilt into Superman! and so that when i go crazy i can run over to his room and start talking to Robbie and Amanda. :)

Met up with Teddy and Dane at this shop! I forgot what its called, but its at Robertson Quay. Its a Japanese Book/Restaurant. Its a very cosy place! I hope to be able to master the language so I can sit there and eat curry chicken rice and read manga in Japanese.
